- I contacted Ms. Jamie Marks, and she gave me a document named "Mach
- Bibliography" written in postscript by e-mail.
-
- Everyone can pick up "Mach Bibliography" by anonymous ftp from
- mach.cs.cmu.edu. You need some special technique to pick up it since
- CMU is using AFS.
-
- % ftp mach.cs.cmu.edu
- Connected to ERNST.MACH.CS.CMU.EDU.
- 220 ERNST.MACH.CS.CMU.EDU FTP server (Version 4.105 of 10-Jul-90
- 12:07) ready.
- Name (mach.cs.cmu.edu:suna): anonymous
- 331 Guest login ok, send username@node as password.
- Password: user@node
- 230-Filenames can not begin with "/.." .
- 230-Other than that, everything is ok.
- 230 User anon logged in.
- ftp> cd /afs/cs.cmu.edu/project/mach/public/doc
- 250 Directory path set to /afs/cs.cmu.edu/project/mach/public/doc.
- ftp>
-
- mach_bib.doc is "Mach Bibliography" in text. mach_bib.ps is in
- PostScript. You can also find interesting documents and papers in this
- directory.
- /afs/cs.cmu.edu/project/mach/public/doc/mach3/kernel_principles.ps is
- suitable for you. This document describes Kernel Structure and Design
- of Mach 3.0.
-
- Anyway, according to it, there seems to be some papers which inform
- you what you want. One of them is:
-
- Richard F. Rashid
- "Threads of a new system"
- Unix Review, 4(8), August 1986
-
- which provides an overview of the development of Mach.
- This document is too old, since this is for Mach 2.0.
-
- You can also refer the proceedings for following workshops and
- symposium.
-
- Oct. 1990 USENIX Mach Workshop
- Nov. 1991 USENIX 2nd Mach Symposium
- Apr. 1992 USENIX Workshop on Micro-Kernels and Other Kernel
- Architectures.
-
- Maybe, last one is interested for you. This proceedings include
- overview of Mach, Amoeba, Chorus, Plan 9, Windows/NT.
