  15. I am running kernal 96c, and can get my modem (on /dev/ttys0) to respond
  16. from the command line with:

  18. echo -n "ATDT5552222\r"
  19.  
  20. so I know it's at least working.  Kermit, however, as well as Pcomm,
  21. will not recognize the thing.  In kermit, I issued:
  22.  
  23. set line /dev/ttys0
  24. set speed 9600
  25. set modem hayes
  26. dial 5552222        and nothing happened
  27.  
  28. In Pcomm:
  29.  
  30. Went to setup screen and entered modem as:
  31. /dev/ttys0    HAYES    9600
  32. Exitted Pcomm and started again
  33.  
  34. What might I be overlooking?
