  12. Last Friday I downloaded the sources and patches, and compiled the Linux
  13. 0.96c pl2 kernel!  Oddly, there were a couple warnings... but she still
  14. compiled.  So now my kernel recognizes my MicroSoft bus mouse...

  16. Unfortunately though, X386 *still* won't work.

  18. I have the xbase binaries, located properly.  I've been supplied with a
  19. working Xconfig'uration for my Paradise video card, and I changed its
  20. mouse spec's to:

  22. BusMouse    "/dev/mouse"
  23.   Emulate3Buttons

  25. (Of course, I also mknod'd /dev/mouse in the prescribed manner...)

  27. I've followed all the INSTALLation instructions that came with the
  28. xbase binaries... but when I type "startx" it works only as far as
  29. the point where you're supposed to press the mouse button.  Nothing
  30. moves when I move my mouse, and there's no reaction to pressing the
  31. button... (and yes, I waited a bit like the INSTALL notes said.)
