- As the subjects states, we are new to this. I've used Unix on Sun and SPARC's
- but never on PC. I've resently be able to gain some speed, PC wise, by getting
- the following.
-
- 486-33 4Meg
- ATI VGA Wonder XL 1Meg with DEXXA mouse
- Western Digital 210MB IDE
- Colorado Jumbo 250 Internal
-
- Is this adequate? Will Linux have problems configuring some devices or the
- hard driver?
-
- I've been reading some of the articles, downloaded a number of files (boot,
- root images), read a few README files, and FAQ's. Can anybody tell me or point
- me to ftp site, or e-mail me a set of installation instructions. I've already
- read some things but like I stated GREEN HORN, most of the stuff is greek to me.
- I already have a full time job so I don't want to spend months installing
- patches, setting devices, and ports and so on. If I may indulge a little more,
- thank you, I've read that Linux and DOS can survive on one system. Would the
- 210MB be enough for this? What would be good partition sizes?
-
- Thanx in Advance
