- I just installed 0.96c (without any of the patches), and from what I've seen
- Linux looks like a very nice O.S. Congratulations to Linus and the rest of you
- who have made this thing take off like this.
-
- I am having a couple of small problems that I was hoping someone could answer.
- The main problem is that I can't figure out how to transfer files from my
- MS-DOG filesystem to Linux. There must be a utility on the 96c distribution
- which will do this, but I can't figure out which one it is. There seems to
- be no other way of downloading files to Linux, since it doesn't ship with a
- terminal program either. I'm sure I'm overlooking something, but I need your
- help to figure out what it is.
-
- The second problem is that when I shoutdown, a message appears about not
- being able to umount /dev/hda2 (which is my root filesystem). Is this a
- problem, or normal behavior.
-
- Sorry if these are FAQ's, but I haven't seen a FAQ list posted to this
- newsgroup yet. I would like to get GCC installed so that I can upgrade to
- 0.96cpl2 and would greatly appreciate any help I can get.
-
- One more thing. I will be developing S3 drivers for the Linux port of X11.
- If anyone has any hints or tips on this development, please let me know.
- I can get the driver docs from S3, which should help considerably. If
- anyone else out there is working on these drivers, I would be willing to help
- in any way I can.

- Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work everyone.
