  15. Actually, after having thought it over again, I think that a
  16. comp.os.linux.news group might be useful.  It would be for
  17. announcements of new versions, ports, etc, for buglists, patches,
  18. Linux-on-tv, etc.  Probably moderated.

  20. What I am against is c.o.l.x (X-related questions seem to be mostly
  21. installation, and if people have problems installing, we either need
  22. better documentation or most probably users that (sic) READ
  23. documentation), c.o.l.kernel (not enough traffic, and there's a mailing
  24. list), c.o.l.programming (not enough Linux-specific traffic).

  26. I'll think this over, and if I still think comp.os.linux.news (possibly
  27. .announce) is a good idea, I'll post an RFD (unless somebody beats me to
  28. it).  One opposition is that there aren't _that_ many announcments, and
  29. those could be handled either by putting 'ANNOUNCE' on the subject line,
  30. or creating a mailing list for this.
