  11. I have been reminded that I should add a caveat to what I just posted.
  12. AT&T has not been too vigourous, particularly of late, of protecting
  13. the trade secret status they originally declared for Unix, and many
  14. fact about how to write a Unix are available unprotected today.

  16. This is CSRG's best defence, I am guessing, but these points of law should
  17. be left to the IP lawyers.  Of course CSRG hasn't yet been sued.  By suing
  18. BSDI they're going after a relatively small fish and scaring away the
  19. other fish, even though if any trade secret violation was done, it was
  20. done by UCB.  Whether any was done depends on a court.
