-
- Correct. MMPM has a similar MCI layer, but they have gone a few steps
- further to take advantage of the multitasking environment.

-
- Yes, one of the steps I mentioned is the Sync/Stream Manager and the
- set of APIs to this layer. This layer manages an extensible group of
- stream manager DLLs to manage data streaming to or from devices.
- Each stream handler can simultaneously handle multiple instances
- of any data protocol that it supports. This is fully architected
- so you can write your own stream handlers and define new data streaming
- protocols. In all, this layer adds a level of data streaming and
- event synchronization support that Windoze doesn't come close to
- matching.

- Yes!
- - 1.0 supports videodisc and CDXA.
- - In 4Q this year, MCI support for digital video with support for
- ActionMedia II (DVI).
- - Later this year, MCI support for display and capture of analog
- video with support for M-Motion.
- - 1.1 due out 1st half of 93 is MCI support for software-compressed
- motion video.
- Keep tuned for more!
