- OK, the university here has a Surplus Equipment Recycling Facility (SERF) which
- sells the crap that the university inevitably accumulates. Today, I found an
- old Osbourne among the stuff, and I'm wondering if anyone can ID ir from its
- description.
-
- General: No model number. Looks a bit like a modern "lunchbox" style computer.
- Panels remove to reveal power switch, fuse, receptacle for power cord, air
- flow vents, several dates indicating that this beast was likely sold circa
- 1985. Keyboard removes by two latches to reveal...
-
- Front panel: Two full height disk drives, one on each side of a 3.5" monitor.
- One contrast knob, one brightness knob. Two bays which look like they might
- take slim line drives (one under each of the full height babies). One "modem"
- port, one RS232 port, one IEEE 488 port, one keyboard port, one bit of plastic
- that says "do not remove when power on", one round button, one sign indicating
- that there are no user servicable parts.
-
- Case: Cream, has "Osbourne" down one side in silver paint. Handle on back
- panel.
-
- If you know what this computer is, and what you think it's worth, please mail
- me or post.
-
-
- bye.
