- We're looking for opinions on SAFEWARE, an insurance company that
- specializes in computers. Their policy covers accidents, theft,
- water and fire damage and power surges. The premium would cost
- us about $130US per year with a $50US deductible on claims. It
- covers purchased software (including losses from viruses) as well
- as computer hardware.
-
- It seems like a suitable policy, but I was wondering if any of
- you folk have had experiences (both good and bad) with SAFEWARE.
- One concern is that they are located in Columbus, OH which is the
- home of Nationwide Insurance -- a company that we have no desire
- to do business with (principally because of some bad experiences
- with Nationwide meeting their claim obligations.) Is SAFEWARE
- affiliated in any way with Nationwide?
-
- Are there any other reputable companies that handle computer
- insurance that anyone would care to recommend?
-
- Please respond via e-mail and I'll post a summary.
