  19. I'd recommend against this.  The compressed tar'd XV distribution
  20. takes up almost 2MB.  Shoveling this amount of data to *every* Usenet
  21. site that carries either comp.graphics or alt.graphics.pixutils would
  22. be a waste of bandwidth, to say the least.  Worse, there will likely
  23. be requests for reposts for missing parts (possibly because local news
  24. spools overflowed) -- haven't encountered a large posting that wasn't
  25. accompanied by a dozen of those...
  26.  
  27. There's a better alternative for those of you without ftp: DEC offers
  28. an FTP-by-mail service which may be listed in the FAQ (I haven't
  29. looked at it recently).  In case it isn't, send mail containing the
  30. single word "help" to:
