  16. I'm using emacs to edit stream-lf files I have cross-mounted from a vms account
  17. to my ultrix workstation.  Emacs is done from the workstation, and when I do 
  18. <ctrl>-x, <ctrl>-s, SOMETIMES (not always) it gives me the following error:

  27. It's very frustrating, because I can't always be certain of being able to
  28. save the changes I make.  Anyway,  has anyone ever seen anything like this
  29. before? - or could anyone offer any clues to where I might look for insight?
