- They provide a range of DSP boards that fit inside the IBM expansion slot.
- The one I use based on the TMS320c25 with 1 channel 16 bit ADC and DAC.
- It is really old hat technology now. The rest of the group use the AT&T
- DSP32, with dual channel 16 bit ADC and DACs. Both boards are supported
- by hyperception's hypersignal software.
-
- Note because of noise the ADC's are only rated at 12 bits and 14 bits d
- dynamic range.
-
- We program the boards in assembly language but I believe cross compliers
- are available (for a price).
-
- The catch is the boards are quite expensive, my TMS cost 1300 pounds, while
- the DSP32 cost about 2000 pounds (without the Debugger). Considering
- a pound to dollar conversion rate of 1.90, plus your Value Added Tax
- makes them very expensive.
-
-
- note the boards have the usual external ram, interrupt timers, (and some-
- times dma).
-
- The guy next door has justed prototyped his own DSP32 development card
- with dual channel sigma delta converters. He claims a dynamic range
- of 15.5 bits from his 16bit converters. Also the sigma delta have an
- internal aliasing filter at half the sampling rate. His timer is also
- a programable interger of 1 Hz (70 - 50k) I think. And uses zero wait
- state (20ns) sram upto 256 k external. He says its a better board and
- is trying to get a supplier to stock it.
-
-
-
- anyway the IEEE spectrum is full of advertisements for dsp boards. ie the
- Tiger boards ...
