- I believe that he is incorrect, unless there's much more to that comment
- than you quote. MNP4 is layered over one of MNP1 through MNP3, with only MNP1
- being a half duplex protocol. I am led to believe that very few modems
- implement MNP1 anymore. MNP2 is a windowed protocol (with a larger window
- than UUCP-g, thank God), and MNP3 is a windowed protocol which also strips
- start and stop bits.

- MNP2 will definitely give less than 100% throughput efficiency, even with
- ZMODEM. MNP1 will do worse, especially over high latency links.
