  20. It's not very surprising that this Eugene guy didn't know
  21. about this bug.  When I called PPI about two months ago to ask
  22. about this test the customer support told me that it's a bug.
  23. Later on I found out that it is not a bug, the command was
  24. simply not implemented in the PM14400FXSA (I guess they just
  25. copy that part of the manual from a Hayes Ultra/Optima's manual).
  26. At that time PPI's support people on Compuserve had already
  27. written a small utility to do this cable testing function.
  28. I forget the name of the file, but it's available on PPI's
  29. forum on CIS.  This file was not even available at PPI's own
  30. bbs and the guys who maintain the bbs didn't know a thing
  31. about the program.  Perhaps there are several Practical
  32. Peripherals, Inc's out there.
