- I'm using one now..can't really give a thorough summary yet as
- it's too early. I've had it connect to 2 other modems at 14.4
- and got over 1600 cps. On the other hand, I *did* experience
- a bug that wouldn't allow it to negotiate a proper handshake
- with a Digitan High-Q 2400 Fax/modem, but was able to correct
- that by adding ATS37=6 (forces 2400 connect) and N0 (turns autobaud
- detection off). I call it a "bug", but it's more likely user
- inexperience :-)
-
- I had a HECK of a time getting this modem to work on COM2..it
- refused to do so with my system. It works just fine on COM4. I
- run a point (1:363/81.1) off of a BBS and use the modem under
- FD 2.02..had no problems so far. On connecting with HST..hmm
- the modem will connect at high baud rate (9600 +) but it will
- only d/l at 2400..can't figure that one out unless it's because
- of the HST "standards" OR the BBS that I called has it configured
- in a wierd way.
-
- Tech Support is Dave and Robert. They have been most helpful
- when I've talked with them. I have some text that I d/l from the
- Lightning BBS (714) 457-9429 that I could post if you're
- interested.
