- The way I understand it, ISDN is currently a 64kbps scheme. It may
- have been updated to 128kbps by now (yes? no?). ISDN is also not "local
- area" and must be considered quite different than Ethernet or RS-232. It
- is going to be significantly slower than anything local, that can be taken
- for granted. Utilizing ethernet allows a good LAN/WAN interface to an ISDN
- "encoder" as well as guaranteed throughput.
