- Strictly speaking (:-), _that's not true, at least in the case of
- V.42bis, since V.42bis starts off the call in "uncompressed" mode
- (sending the raw data rather than tokens, although building tokens
- in the background and monitoring performance). When the dictionary
- gets built up to the point where compression is possible, it
- switches into compressed mode and begins sending tokens for the
- first time. From then on, your statement is entirely correct.
