- I've recently called Paradyne about their modems. This is what
- I've been able to find out.
-
- They currently have 3 models, the Comsphere 3810, 3820 and the 3830.
- They all have V.32bis, V.42 and V.42bis (including downward compati-
- bility with V.32, V.22bis, V.22, MNP4 and MNP5). They negotiate
- downward and upward (in V.32bis), and was found the most reliable
- modem by PC Mag.
-
- The 3810 is the most expensive, at $1195 retail. It also has the most
- features, including 2 or 4 line leased line and ATT network protocol
- built in. It also has flash ROM, so ROM upgrades can be done over the
- phone.
-
- The 3820 is a dial only modem, at $995 retail. It also has flash ROM,
- like the 3010.
-
- The 3830 is also a dial only modem, and at $795 retail, is also
- the cheapest of the three. It's virtually identical with the 3820,
- but instead of flash ROM, it has EPROMS, so for any ROM upgrade, you
- must send the unit back to ATT.
-
- I don't currently have a list of vendors for the ATT modems, so I
- can`t provide you with one.
-
- Hope this helps. Also, you can reach ATT Paradyne at (800)482-3333.
