  10. we have about 76 ft of thickwire with 8 transceiver connected to it. for
  11. the last couple of days the whole network has been going up and down. we
  12. ahd thought we isolated the problem to a transceiver but it keeps coming
  13. back.

  15. 6 of the transceivers are cabletron, the other two are dec. when the
  16. network is down the led's on the cabletron are receive flashing,
  17. transmit and collision off.

  19. i put a tdr on it and showed a short at 27 ft from one end and 70 ft
  20. from the other end. the connections appear to be good. the tdr is the
  21. only thing i have to test with.

  23. the network will stay down for about 15 minute and then come back up.

  25. any ideas about what i can look for. if i haven't been specific enough
  26. let me know.
