  12. I would appreciate it if someone could describe this news-group and its
  13. purpose to me.
  14. I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science trying to write the thesis in
  15. the areas of high-speed integrated networks.  I am gathering material
  16. on ATM/SONET and trying to list various issues which could be persued
  17. at the thesis level.
  18. If any one has any pointers, I would highly appreciate it.
  19. My sources so far have been IEEE Communication magazines, JSACs,
  20. proceedings of SIGCOMM, etc.
