Hi, I'm having a very hard time trying to find a good, inexpensive BBS that
has Strong message features and is easy and intuitive for the users to use.
SearchLight is too expensive for my budget.
I've been looking at Remote Access and Maximus. Maximus has a very irritating
problem with scrolling the message body off (clearing the screen). I tried to
get around it (believe me, I tried lots of creative ways) but none worked well. If you turn of ScreenScrolling, whenever a person replies or enters a message,
Maximus's built-in editor fails to clear the screen so the user has to enter
their message while there is garbage on the screen. Annoying.
Remote Access, on the other hand, has the message areas set up so that its very
difficult to add, insert, delete new/old message areas as the board grows. Its
message numbering scheme is also not as nice as Maximus, however, it doesn't
have the problem with scrolling the body off (actually it may, but this can be
fixed by changing the configuration).
PLEASE HELP ME! I need a BBS with Strong Messaging. I'm finding out that there
are a lot of BBS programs but few with this very important feature.
