- Well, the Texas Silent 700 thermal printer had a 35 element printhead
- arranged on a 5*7 matrix. I've seen other thermal printers with a similar
- layout. A friend of mine has a Honeywell printer with 14 pins, in 2 colums
- of 7 exactly aligned - it only has 7 horizontal rows in the final output.
- I think that's so that the solenoids can run at a lower duty cycle for the
- same speed. Also, 24 pin printers often have the pins in 2 columns, offset
- by 1/2 a pin width.
