- Okay...your examples are really acronyms and not abbrevations. However I do
- agree with you on this point. Why? Well, what does MODEM stand for?
- I have always heard MOdulator/DEModulator. Likewise I have always haerd it
- pronounced as mode-em. When I was just starting out with all this stuff (god
- only knows how long ago) I first pronouonced it mod-em, but then I found
- myself pronouncing it the other way once I found others to converse with.
