-
- The second beta release of XPaint 2.0 is now available for use, it can
- be FTPed from export.lcs.mit.edu or found in a recent alt.sources
- posting.
-
- From the README file:
- -------
-
- XPAINT 2.0 Beta 2
-
-
-
- Welcome to the current release of XPaint 2.0. What does XPaint do
- for you? Why many wonderful things of course. XPaint is a reasonably
- versitile bitmap/pixmap editing tool. XPaint came out of a problem editing
- some very large bitmap, and wanting more functionality then was provided
- by bitmap, after XPaint 1.0 sat around for a LONG time, I finally ended up
- with a strong need to edit color pixmaps. Presto, this is what has appeared
- from that problem.
-
- XPaint is able to read X11 Bitmap's and the PNM format from the PBMPLUS
- toolkit (which is available in many archives near you).
-
- There is one REQURIREMENT, which is that you have a compiler that
- understands void* and prototypes.
-
- Features XPaint provides:
- Usual paint operations:
- Brushes, Erasers, Spray paint, Pencil
- Lines, Arcs, Pattern Fill, Text,
- Boxes, Circles, Polygons.
- Works on multiple images simultaniously.
- Cut/Copy/Paste between all active images.
- Fatbits on the image windows.
-
- And now the ToDo list to provide you with some insite into where XPaint
- is going for it's final release.
-
- TODO List:
- ** Documentation **
- Imakefile
- Document the Operation functionality
- Patterns should support grabbing from enviornment
- Patterns should be able to be read/written
- Line style should be selectable better than the menu
- other -
- spay edit should work, along with brush edit should
- be implemented
- font should be selectable much easier.
- Colormaps and 24 bit images need to be done better
- Paste needs to be "better"
- Fatbits & Pattern's needs cut/copy/paste
-
- Hope you find this useful,
