- Following the success of the First Olympic event which took place in
- September 1990, the Turing Institute is now in the process of organizing
- the second event in the series. This will tale place in Glasgow,
- Scotland from 23rd-25th September 1993.

- A project management team have been appointed to coordinate the project.
- Phase one of the sponsorship has been completed, and we are now in the
- process of organizing the International Robot Games Committee, formalizing
- the rules via a network of individuals and organizations and consolidating
- phase two of the international sponsorship.

- The management plans include provision for a central core event based on
- a robot version of the Olympic Games supported by a series of secondary
- activities including:

- 1. A trade and technology exhibition.
- 2. A masterclass seminar.
- 3. A robot concert in collaboration with one of the major Scottish
- Orchestras.
- 4. An exhibition of robots in the film industry.
- 5. An exhibition of robots in healthcare.
- 6. An exhibition on the history of robotics.
- 7. A schools event for junior competition.

- If you or your colleagues are interested in any aspect of the Games
- please complete the questionnaire and return it as soon as possible
- to the address shown.

- If you know of other organizations who may be interested in the event,
- feel free to copy this information to them. We hope that with your help,
- this international event will develop further. Should you have any
- suggestions, additional information or questions, please forward them to
- the organizing committee along with the questionnaire.

- Participating in any of the competition events is free.

- Further information for attending the masterclass seminar, exhibiting in the
- trade exhibition, etc. is available on request (see form below).

- Although the organizing committee of the IRG will assist participants with
- sponsorship arrangements, it is the responsibility of the participants to
- identify potential sponsors and pursue individual arrangements. Further
- information is available on request (see form below).

- 15. Rope climbing (self starting) 16. Hurdles
- 17. High Jump 18. Nanomouse
- 19. Aerial robots (flying machines that 20. Innovation machines
- pick and carry loads)
- 21. Roboart (aesthetics that move) 22. Synchronized dancing

- synchro & aesthetically)
