  21.   Theres been alot of discussion about TSNEWS-L and to John Simms
  22.   at SAS (chief architect of all SI's new electronic services) just
  23.   gave us the straight poop.  He said Todd Pukanecz's advice and
  24.   others (Kernon, Bob, etc.) is mostly right.....but there's
  25.   confusion about this AFD stuff.....first Todd's correct
  26.   directions on subscribing:

  35.  Then you can follow Todd's directions for sending the AFD
  36.  (automatic file distribution) requests.  However, as some of you
  37.  have guessed, Nelson Pardee, this doesn't buy you what some of
  38.  you think......after you subscribe, you WILL get all of the
  39.  problem alerts automagically.  You don't need to send ANY AFD
  40.  requests to get all the problem alerts.  Unless you send your AFD
  41.  requests though, you won't get John's final "Problem Alert
  42.  Letter" that will include ALL of the alerts for the platform you
  43.  have requested.  So if you want the ENTIRE FPALERT letter, you
  44.  need to send your AFD request:
