  13. Dorothy Day's comments on file conversion are valid but within limits.  Yes,
  14. we do use version 5.0 of WFW, but the University Comp Support people do not
  15. have the MAC version of MS-Word, which explains why we first had to convert
  16. the MAC version of Word to Word Perfect.  However, using the MAC's Super
  17. Drive's capability of converting the ms. to a DOS text file would defeat the
  18. objective of maintaining the print formats, notes, and foreign language
  19. characters that the ms. contains.

  21. Unless I have the institutional budget to acquire Software Bridge in
  22. addition to WFW 5.0 (or 5.1), I would not spend personal funds for the
  23. relatively rare occasions I've had to deal with MAC to MS-DOS conversions.  I
  24. found them both to be excellent products.
