- Because Ibid generated deltas contain only minimal, i.e. stripped down,
- excerpts from the author and title fields, they will be virtually useless to
- someone trying to produce a bibliography from a manuscript. The ibid
- bibliography generator (as I understand it) uses the record number in the
- delta as a reference and then pulls out the data required for the bibliography
- directly from the ibid database. Because the publisher¢printer has no access
- to your database, the ibid deltas and record numbers will be virtually
- useless.
-
- In my experience, most publishers want footnotes printed separately on
- following pages (from the text) and need a separate bibliography as well. I
- suggest printing to disk using notes as endnotes and the ascii2.prn driver. Or
- printing disk using a driver you and the publisher agree on so they can
- interpret the underlining, italics, etc. printer commands.
-
- I'd also recommend generating you own bibliogrpahy and similarly printing it
- to disk to send along.
