  12. To get a Shapirit Hebrew file into NBLINGUA use the
  13. command CALL/H. This will keep the ASCII characters
  14. as they are, rather than convert them to 3 bytes
  15. combinations -- NBLINGUA ingenious and dubious
  16. innovation. However, Roman character strings will
  17. appear in the wrong direction, because NBLINGUA
  18. (the beta version I have, an old February 1992)
  19. converts every MDHN to MDNM, without checking whether
  20. it should not be converted instead to LA4 (with or without
  21. "mdnm").

  23. I began some time ago to write an XPL pgm to cure this
  24. irritating outcome, but I then decided to wait. Perhaps the
  25. final version WILL after all sense this trouble.
  26. (I wish, however, someone from NBI asked me about it;
  27. but there is little interest for the moment in the
  28. specifics of Hebrew users.)

  30. Sometimes the CALL/H command does not work. You must then
  31. call the file in Shapirit, enter "LA4" before "LR0" in
  32. the expanded mode, save the file under a different name,
  33. then load NBLINGUA and call this file.

  35. Whether you use the CALL/H command successfully, or must
  36. use the other way, NEVER SAVE THE ORIGINAL FILE WHILE WORKING
  37. IN NBLINGUA! This can cause lots of trouble if you then wish
  38. to edit it with Shapirit.

  40. Finally, all of the above applies to NB 3.1, too (if by miracle
  41. you managed to get the evaporized semi-version once distributed
  42. here and there).

  47. For those of you who need Hebrew with full vocalization,
  48. or fancy accents, with a Laser printer you will be able to
  49. print incredibly beautiful texts. As for wordprocessing
  50. etc. itself, I am still waiting to see if we are not
  51. regressing rather than advancing.
