- Since it's come up, the example for "chips" ("no chips
- on the window" as the ball hurtles to its destructive
- landing) is really quite nice, but almost surely
- was unnecessary (what a responsible lot of children
- you must have been!).

- In New York growing up, most commonly one would have to
- claim "no chips on the _ball_," thus ending before-the-fact
- the _real_ arguments re damages. Especially if we
- were using the late-lamented Pensy-Pinkies (sigh).
