  13. I know the feeling regarding authoring academic software.  I am in the
  14. uncomfortable position of having produced a Windows (C++) program with many
  15. of the basic bells and whistles that does very detailed course, track, and
  16. grade distribution analysis by complex demographic variables--a big time
  17. investment.

  19. So far, although I did get funding for a pilot project using a crude APL
  20. version of this software in 1989, I've yet to get the money for the
  21. large-scale project which this software seems to be very capable of.  Not
  22. much academic payoff in THAT (yet??)!!
