  11. Hmmm.  I just noticed another inconsistency in our popular usage:
  12. audible SOUND is carried on airwaves (oscillations in the air); the
  13. broadcast media are "airwaves" only in the very last step; the
  14. transmission is actually via the "etherwaves".
