  12. My peeve: New Jersey has a law that mandates that children 
  13. riding bicycles must wear a helmet.

  15. While I do not object to other people wearing bicycle helmets, 
  16. why must my kids wear them? Instinctively I would say that kids 
  17. have fewer accidents riding bikes than adults because they spend 
  18. more time on bikes and because they have sharper reflexes.

  20. I also feel that it is unfair for children to be forced to wear a 
  21. helmet when adults are not. If children could vote, this law would
  22. have never been passed.

  24. Other peeves: The town I live in (Edison,NJ) has bent over backwards
  25. to accomodate building contractors (aka scum of the earth). Now, 
  26. I feel forced to sell my house because the road I am living on will 
  27. become much busier because of the needs of one of these contractors.
  28. The worst part of all this is that I am forced to perform menial chores 
  29. such as spackling, painting and working on the yard. I recently finished
  30. the complete remodeling of my kitchen: new walls, windows, appliances,
  31. ceramic floor, etc. I am sick of working on my house!

  33. Why does my town pay its teachers one of the highest average salaries 
  34. in NJ and not produce students with comparably high average SAT scores?
  35. What are we paying all that money for? [Note to the politically correct: 
  36. SAT scores are an accurate and fair and standardized test of a student's 
  37. ability to think in a logical fashion under a great deal of stress.
  38. While it might seem that these tests only test a student's "test taking 
  39. ability", that ability is equivalent to the abilities that adults must 
  40. possess in order to succeed in our society.]
