  25. I finally got to see the footage of Bud Dwyer's public suicide last night.
  26. It was on this great film called "TV Sphincter" that Andy lent me (see
  27. alt.tasteless for details).

  29. Peeve:  I placed unnecessary wear and tear on the motor of my VCR by
  30.         rewinding the film several times to fully appreciate the
  31.     delicate subtlety of this scene.  Then I found out that it
  32.     was repeated six times in succession, apparently as a special
  33.     service to the connoisseurs in the audience.

  35. Who was that guy, anyway?  I seem to recall that he was a public figure
  36. in Pennsylvania -- the state treasurer, perhaps? -- who got caught up in
  37. some kind of tskandal, maybe misappropriation of state funds or some such
  38. thing.
