- I agree, I don't like .kit. However, I find .scale is more focused than
- .misc. Why have a .rc, .railroad, and .rockets if you don't want
- conversation in the group to be focused around a particular *type* of
- modelling? All of the discussion in .rc, .railroad, and .rockets is not
- inappropriate in a .misc group, it's only that it is more likely to reach
- interested readers if it is posted to the appropriate group. .scale is an
- appropriate group for discussions of scale models.

- Other posters have pointed out that most groups have a .misc, and rec.models
- doesn't. No one said you can't have .sclae *and* .misc. I think that
- should be added to the proposal.

- But I much prefer .scale to .misc simply because it is more focused. In
- addition, new users of the news groups who are interested in scale modeling
- will know which group to go to, whereas .misc, by definition, is a catch-all.
