║ RECORD Help ║
╚════════════════════════════════╝
The RECORD option puts you in an 8 track recorder. Each of the 8 tracks is an
independent set of MIDI data. You can name each track, usually after the
instrumental sound. Each track can be given any MIDI Channel number between
1 and 16. At any given time a track can be set to RECORD MIDI data, PLAY or
be dormant. The volume during playback can be set with the channels's VOL.
To record on track 1, turn that tracks RECORD to ON (select it and hit return)
Select Metronome to toggle the MPU-401 beeper on/off. Then select RECORD.
MIDI data received by the MPU-401 will be recorded on the track. Hit any
computer key to stop the record process.
Once one track is recorded, switch it's PLAY status to ON, and then set the
next track to record. When you select RECORD the first track will play while
you record the next. This can be continued for all eight tracks.
Normally only MIDI note data is recorded. If you want controller data (eg.
Pitch Bend data) or exclusive messages (patch changes) recorded, select those
options on the right bottom corner of the RECORD menu.
Hit any key to exit this screen.
