Hi. A friend of mine just bought an AOR 2700 (?) handheld in Toronto.
It most definately has unobstructed coverage and picks up Cellular. He
bought it at Atlantic Ham Radio (416)636-3636. They do ship mail order
- and I suspect to the USA. The unit he bought is on sale (end of model
line) for 500$CDN.

1. How many generations of BC 200XLTs were manufactured? I have been told that
all BC 200 XLTs are cellular modifiable. Is this true?
I have accessed the mod instructions on the internet, but the description and
ASCII drawing of the resistor (and its location) to be cut in half for
restoration do not match the circuit board in my radio.
2. Is there a difference between the Uniden 1147 IC in the mod description and
the Uniden 1147A IC in my radio?
3. In my BC 200 XLT there is no resistor where it should be according to the
instructions (above the letters "DEN" on the IC). Rather there is a small (1mm
by 2mm) rectangular surface mount component labled "103." There are many other
similar rectangular components located at various places on the circuit board,
each with its own unique number. Is "103" equivalent to the resistor that
should be cut? Is it safe to cut "103?"
4. Are BC 200XLTs with the Uniden 1147A chip modifiable? If so how?
5. Do you know the date code? Mine says "OAID" or "0A1D."
Is there anyone out there from the Salt Lake City area that has all the
Fire and Salt Lake County Sheriff frequencies ?
I have most of them I found over time that are not in Police Call but
noticed I dont have them all.
Thanks Mr.C

Do you have a definitive list of cellular tower frequencies or can you point
