I recently purchased a old Zenith Shortwave Radio and would appreciate any
information anyone can give me including a price. The radio is wood, it is 13 inches across and 8 inches deep. It has a speaker on the left side. It has a
frequency display on it with Shortwave one on top, Standard Broacast in middle,
and Shortwave Two on the bottom. There is a volume knob on the left and a band
selection knob on the right. Beneath the frequency display there is 5 pushbutton programable frequency buttons. I would guess this very nice looking rad
from the 1940's but have no idea of what it is worth or any details of its history.
I would appreciate any help I could get on it. By the way the radio was purchased at a yard sale for $20.00.

I have never seen the back of a DX390, but you need to connect a wire from
the "ground" connection of the radio to the outer cover of the PL259, and a wire from the "antenna" connection on the radio to the center conductor of the
PL259,,,many people use alligator clips. Failing this, cut the pl259 off,
(keeping a 12 inch Pigtail incase you want to use it again) and simply connect the 2 wires of the coax to the radio...73 Bob WA0DXZ
