  275. Folder Guard for Windows 9x
  276. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  277. Folder Guard is a software-only security solution for personal or
  278. publicly accessible computers running the Windows 95 operating
  279. system.  Its features include:

  281. o Complete control over access to folders of your choice.  You can
  282.   hide any folder, so that its contents will be invisible to all
  283.   applications including Explorer, MS Office, MS-DOS programs,
  284.   common dialogs, etc.

  286. o Optional user validation at logon, which helps protect your
  287.   Windows 95 files from intruders.  A log file can be set up to help
  288.   you keep track of the use of your computer.

  339. File Manager Guard (or, for short, FM Guard) is a powerful utility
  340. that allows one to selectively disable features and capabilities of
  341. File Manager and some other Windows components.
  342.  
  343. After installing FM Guard, you will be able to prevent user(s) from
  344. performing any or all commands of File Manager, from running
  345. undesirable programs, browsing hidden files, changing file
  346. attributes, etc.  FM Guard allows you to select which drives should
  347. NOT be accessible via File Manager and Common Dialogs ('Open', 'Save
  348. As', etc.).  It even provides you with the possibility to keep the
  349. size and location of the File Manager window in the same place on
  350. the screen!  And if you need to restore the capabilities of File
  351. Manager for your use, just enter a password and they are back.

  353. Note for Windows 9x users: FM Guard restricts only the "old" File 
  354. Manager, which is still available under Windows 95 as WINFILE.EXE.
  355. If you need to restrict the new Windows 9x shell, you may find that

  362. StepUp'98 (formerly StepUp'96) is a set of utilities designed to
  363. extend the Windows user interface.  When you install StepUp'98, 
  364. additional commands are added to the menus and taskbar of Windows, 
  365. making you able to work with Windows easier and faster.

  367. The previous version of StepUp'98, StepUp'96, was featured in the
  368. May'97 issue of Windows Magazine, Superior Shareware section.  It
  369. was also selected as a Pick of the Week at the WinUser forum on

  420. Manager dramatically.  Instead of replacing File Manager, FM StepUp

  494. FM Toolbar is an extender of File Manager for Microsoft(R)
  495. Windows(tm) 3.1x, Windows for Workgroups(tm) 3.11, and Windows 95,
  496. which adds a toolbar to File Manager.
