Pitching - Keyboard Controls
To select a pitch hold down the desired pitch key and press the Enter key or
Button #1. Each pitcher has his own set of four pitches. On the numeric
keypad:
2 = strategy
4 = medium pitch
5 = strongest pitch and Button #1
6 = medium pitch
8 = weakest pitch
To select the area to pitch to, hold down the desired location key during
your windup. How long you hold
down the key determines how far inside/outside, etc. pitches will be.
If the pitching crosshairs option is on, you will see where you aimed the
pitch. In pitcherÆs view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter
or in batters view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter:
1 = low and outside
2 = low
3 = low and inside
4 = outside
5 = Button #1
6 = inside
7 = high and outside
8 = high
9 = high and inside
In pitcher's view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter or
in batter's view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter:
1 = low and inside
2 = low
3 = low and outside
4 = inside
5 = Button #1
6 = outside
7 = high and inside
8 = high
9 = high and outside
To pitch the ball press and hold down the Enter key. Press the Esc key
to call a time-out. Note: In a two player game when the pitching crosshairs
option is on, the crosshairs disappear just before you finish aiming so your
opponent will not see where you aimed the ball.
Fielding - Keyboard Controls
To throw to a base hold down the key for the base you want to throw to and
press the Enter key or Button
#1. In pitcher's view:
2 = second base
4 = first base
5 = Button #1
6 = third base
8 = home plate
++In batterÆs view:
2 = home plate
4 = third base
5 = Button #1
6 = first base
8 = second base
To execute a pickoff hold down the appropriate base key and press the
Backspace key or Button #2. You must pick you pitch before you can try a
pickoff.
After a ball is hit a yellow circle appears by the feet of the player
nearest the ball. To move the highlighted player use the keys on your
numeric keypad:
1 = forward and to the left
2 = straight forward
3 = forward and to the right
4 = straight left
6 = straight right
7 = backward and to the left
8 = straight backward
9 = backward and to the right
If the player is close to the ball, press the Backspace key or Button #2 to
jump or dive. If the ball passes him and another player is closer, press
the Enter key to switch player control.
If you are playing against a friend on the same keyboard, one of you should
use the following letter keys
(second keyboard equivalent keys):
q (= 7)
w (= 8)
e (= 9)
a (= 4)
s (= 5)
d (= 6)
z (= 1)
x (= 2)
c (= 3)
spacebar (= Button #1)
tab (= Button #2)
If you do not have a numeric keypad on your keyboard you can use the
following letter keys instead:
u (= 7)
i (= 8)
o (= 9)
j (= 4)
k (= 5)
l (= 6)
m (= 1)
, (= 2)
. (= 3)
Enter (= Button #1)
Backspace (= Button #2)
Pitching - Joystick Controls
To select a pitch move the joystick handle in the direction of the desired
pitch and press Button #1.
up = weakest pitch
down = strategy pitch
left = medium pitch
right = medium pitch
To select the area to pitch to move the joystick handle in the direction
you want to pitch the ball during your pitcherÆs windup. If the pitching
crosshairs option is on, you will be able to see where you have aimed the
pitch. In pitcher's view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter
or in batter's view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter:
down = low
down and left = low and outside
down and right = low and inside
left = outside
no movement = middle
right = inside
up = high
up and left = high and outside
up and right = high and inside
++In pitcher's view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter or in
batterÆs view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter:
down = low
down and left = low and inside
down and right = low and outside
left = inside
no movement = middle
right = outside
up = high

To pitch the ball press and hold Button #1. Note: In a two player game when
the pitching crosshairs option is on, the crosshairs disappear just before

Fielding - Joystick Controls
To throw to a base move the joystick handle toward the base you want to
throw to and press Button #1.
up = second base
down = catcher
left = third base
right = first base
To execute a pickoff move the joystick handle toward the base you want to
attempt a pickoff at and press Button #2. You must pick your pitch before
you can try a pickoff. In pitcher's or batter's view:
up = second base
down = catcher
left = third base
right = first base
After a ball is hit a yellow circle appears by the feet of the player
nearest the ball. Use you joystick to move the highlighted player around.
If the player is close to the ball, press Button #2 to jump or dive.
If the ball passes him and another player is closer, press Button #1 to
switch player control.
