Batting - Keyboard Controls
To select your type of swing, hold down the desired swing key and press the Enter key
or Button #1. On the numeric keypad:
2 = Strategy
4 = Bunt
5 = Contact and Button #1
6 = Power
To select the area to swing in, hold down the desired location key and select after the
pitcher releases the ball. In the batter's view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed
hitter, or in the pitcher's view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter:
1 = Low and Outside
2 = Low
3 = Low and Inside
4 = Outside
5 = Button #1
6 = Inside
7 = High and Outside
8 = High
9 = High and Inside
In the batter's view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter, or in the pitcher's view
where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter:
1 = Low and Inside
2 = Low
3 = Low and Outside
4 = Inside
5 = Button #1
6 = Outside
7 = High and Inside
8 = High
9 = High and Outside
To swing the bat, press the Enter key or Button #1. To call a timeout, press the Esc key.
Running - Keyboard Controls
To advance, press the base key where you want your runner to advance. To retreat, hold
down the base key you want your runner to return to and press Enter or Button #1. You
must do so before the runner reaches the next base. Base runners automatically lead off.
To lead off or steal, increase lead off by holding down the desired base key. Hold down the
base key and press Backspace or Button #2 when the pitcher starts his windup to make
the runner steal.
In the batter's view:
2 = Home
4 = 3rd Base
5 = Button #1
6 = 1st Base
8 = 2nd Base
In the pitcher's view:
2 = 2nd Base
4 = 1st Base
5 = Button #1
6 = 3rd Base
8 = Home
If you are playing against a friend on the same keyboard, one of you should use the
following letter keys (second keyboard equivalent keys):
z (= 1)
x (= 2)
c (= 3)
a (= 4)
s (= 5)
d (= 6)
q (= 7)
w (= 8)
e (= 9)
Spacebar = Button #1
Tab = Button #2
If you do not have a numeric keypad on your keyboard, you can use the following
letter keys instead:
m ( = 1)
, (= 2)
. (= 3)
j (= 4)
k (= 5)
l (= 6)
u (= 7)
i (= 8)
o (= 9)
Enter = Button #1
Backspace = Button #2
Batting - Joystick Controls
To select a swing, move the joystick handle in the direction of the desired
swng and press Button #1.
center = contact
right = power
down = strategy
left = bunt
After the pitcher releases the ball, move the joystick handle in the direction you
want to hit the ball in order to select the area in which to swing.
In the batter's view where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter, or in the pitcher's
view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter:
center = middle
up = high
up and right = high and inside
right = inside
down and right = low and inside
down = low
down and left = low and outside
left = outside
up and left = high and outside
In the batter's view where the pitcher is facing a right-handed hitter, or in the pitcher's view
where the pitcher is facing a left-handed hitter:
center = middle
up = high
up and right = high and outside
right = inside
down and right = low and outside
down = low
down and left = low and inside
left = outside
up and left = high and inside
To swing the bat, press Button #1. Press Esc to call a timeout.
Running - Joystick Controls
To advance, move the joystick handle toward the base to which you want to advance.
To retreat, move the joystick handle toward the base you want to return to and press
Button #1 before the runner reaches a base. Base runners automatically lead off. You
can make them lead off more by holding the joystick handle in the direction of the base
you want to steal. Hold the joystick handle in that direction and press Button #2 when
the pitcher starts his windup to make the runner steal.
From the batter's view:
up = 2nd base
right = 1st base
down = home
left = 3rd base
From the pitcher's view:
up = home
right = 3rd base
down = 2nd base
left = 1st base
