PATCH2 10-29-97 v6.00f
Hi Folks!
To install this patch, just copy patch2.exe to your game directory, run it,
and answer "yes" to any overwrite queries. For this particular patch, you do
not need any previous patches.
ISSUES ADDRESSED IN A PREVIOUS PATCH AND INCLUDED IN THIS ONE:
--Multiplayer TCP/IP performance has been greatly improved. Some of you bold
souls may have noticed game hangups with anything more than 2 players. This
patch addresses that problem. However, doing so required that we change the
protocols somewhat which means all players in a game will need to have
upgraded with this patch.
--There is now an option in the Preferences to do full redraws on scrolling.
ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THIS PATCH:
--Artillery no longer rout to brigade commanders.
--Units no longer occasionally vanish from the game with the use of the TAB
key.
--Units no longer rout thru enemy lines.
--Hitting the 'j' key (yes, we're running out of keys) toggles the tree
and house graphics. When they are not shown, the grid is shown.
--There is now a Preference for making the graphic for the artillery smaller.
--Hitting the 'k' key randomizes the AI personality. If you want it to remain
a secret, don't look at your Options screen after doing this.
--Artillery capturing rules have been modified. First, the captured guns no
longer lose a great number of men. Second, the capturer doesn't lose any men
to manning the captured guns. And last, you CAN move captured guns, albeit
very slowly. They've still lost their horses but you can push them. The
nice thing is that you do not have to limber in order to move a captured
artillery.
--The bug where you cannot select the Commander in the first tutorial is
fixed.
--This patch works to improve Multiplayer connection issues.
Thanks to all for their support and suggestions.
Stayed tuned for more and enjoy the game!
