  55. Maxus SE is a small multi-functional tool designed to improve 
  56. your Windows and Internet experience. It actually comprises 
  57. several utilities listed below. The first is a powerful built-in 
  58. dial-up connections manager that enables you to establish Internet 
  59. connections using any account existing in your system, schedule 
  60. your computer to automatically connect to your ISP and disconnect 
  61. at the specified time, restore broken connections, terminate the 
  62. connection when it is not used or emulate network activity to 
  63. prevent breaking the connection by your ISP. A traffic monitor 
  64. is also included, which displays the real-time graph of bandwidth usage. 
  65. The hotkeys manager lets you assign custom keyboard shortcuts to 
  66. some of the routine Windows tasks (such as restarting the system), 
  67. start various applications using the hotkeys and even open and 
  68. close the CD-ROM tray by pressing keys on your keyboard. 
  69. Maxus SE also features a skinnable desktop clock that can display 
  70. the current time, the time passed since the last reboot or the 
  71. duration of the current Internet connection; the clock also supports 
  72. voiced time spelling in multiple languages and can synchronize 
  73. system time with the highest precision atomic clock servers via Internet. 
  74. Powerful system resources monitor constantly displays the amount of 
  75. free system resources, the usage of physical RAM and virtual memory 
  76. and the CPU load. Maxus SE also integrates with a popular freeware 
  77. utility Motherboard Monitor providing for the ability to constantly 
  78. monitor motherboard, CPU and hard drives temperatures. The last but 
  79. not least important tool is a flexible scheduler with customizable 
  80. visual and sound alarms and ability to launch certain applications 
  81. or open documents at the specified time. Notwithstanding all the 
  82. variety of the programÆs capabilities, it is very intuitive and 
  83. easy to use. All features are controlled via well-structured 
  84. context menus and there is no learning curve in using Maxus SE 
  85. even for the least experienced users.

  90. Important! If you've got Maxus not from our web page, but from
  91. the other source (magazine CD or some software library), please
  92. visit our home page - you'll probably find the later version;
  93. usually, we release the updates about once a month.

  95. We recommend you to uninstall the previous version of Maxus (if you 
  96. have one) from your computer before installing this one. You can do 
  97. this via "Add/Remove Programs" from Control Panel. If you'll get the 
  98. notification that the Maxus folder is not empty, be careful when removing it: 
  99. folder may contain files of data base and also files with statistics (inetst.dat, 
  100. stbase.dat) that can be useful for you.

  103. To install Maxus, just run the "setup.exe" and follow the
  104. instructions.

  128. - Be sure that you're doing everything right. We all make
  129.   mistakes sometimes... Be attentive.
  130. - Look at the Help file: it may already contain an answer to
  131.   your question. A lot of people ask us something like "how
  132.   do I:", though the complete information is there.
  133. - Visit Maxus home page in the Internet at
  134.   http://www.neurobridge.com. It's a good chance that you'll
  135.   find the newer version of Maxus there. If the serious bug has
  136.   been found in the program, but the new version is not ready yet,
  137.   we make the hot fix for it.

  146. registered user) - this will help us to process your request faster 
  147. - Where did you get Maxus (http or ftp site) 
  148. - Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 version (including service packs and 
  149. other fixes installed), US or international, OEM or not 
  150. - Computer information: CPU type and speed, amount of memory installed 
  151. - Description of your problem (as much information as possible to 
  152. retrieve the problem) 
  153. - Any additional information, which may help: the type of your hard 
  154. drive, cd-rom, modem etc.

  156. Note: you may want to read the "How to Determine the Version of
  157. Windows 95 in Use" article by Microsoft. Use the following URL:

  161. In order to get the complete computer information (working under
  162. Windows 95), open the Control Panel, click on "System" applet and
  163. press "Print" on "Device Manager" tab.
