It actually comprises several utilities listed below. The first is a powerful built-in dial-up connections manager that enables you to establish Internet connections using any account existing in your system, schedule your computer to automatically connect to your ISP and disconnect at the specified time, restore broken connections, terminate the connection when it is not used or emulate network activity to prevent breaking the connection by your ISP. A traffic monitor is also included, which displays the real-time graph of bandwidth usage. The hotkeys manager lets you assign custom keyboard shortcuts to some of the routine Windows tasks (such as restarting the system), start various applications using the hotkeys and even open and close the CD-ROM tray by pressing keys on your keyboard. Maxus SE also features a skinnable desktop clock that can display the current time, the time passed since the last reboot or the duration of the current Internet connection; the clock also supports voiced time spelling in multiple languages and can synchronize system time with the highest precision atomic clock servers via Internet. Powerful system resources monitor constantly displays the amount of free system resources, the usage of physical RAM and virtual memory and the CPU load. Maxus SE also integrates with a popular freeware utility Motherboard Monitor providing for the ability to constantly monitor motherboard, CPU and hard drives temperatures. The last but not least important tool is a flexible scheduler with customizable visual and sound alarms and ability to launch certain applications or open documents at the specified time. Notwithstanding all the variety of the program’s capabilities, it is very intuitive and easy to use. All features are controlled via well-structured context menus and there is no learning curve in using Maxus SE even for the least experienced users. Installation ------------ Important! If you've got Maxus not from our web page, but from the other source (magazine CD or some software library), please visit our home page - you'll probably find the later version; usually, we release the updates about once a month. We recommend you to uninstall the previous version of Maxus (if you have one) from your computer before installing this one. You can do this via "Add/Remove Programs" from Control Panel. If you'll get the notification that the Maxus folder is not empty, be careful when removing it: folder may contain files of data base and also files with statistics (inetst.dat, stbase.dat) that can be useful for you. To install Maxus, just run the "setup.exe" and follow the instructions. History ------- See "history.txt" file. Registration ------------ See "order.txt" file.
