  1. README FILE for Jot 1.1

  4. Welcome to the release of Jot 1.1. If you're a user of Jot 0.7a, you'll
  5. notice a lot of changes and new features, which are documented in the
  6. help file. If you're not familiar with Jot, the help file describes the
  7. program and its use.
  8.  
  9. Please read the LICENSE and WARRANTY in the help file before you use Jot;
  10. using the program is an implicit acceptance of the terms.
  11. To distribute Jot, please see the DISTRIBUTION notes in the help file, as
  12. there are some restrictions.

  16. There are two releases of Jot available -
  17. For Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups:
  18.     use JOT110W.ZIP (Win16 version)
  19. For Windows/NT 3.5+ and Windows95:
  20.     use JOT110N.ZIP (Win32 version)
  21.  
  22. Jot works under Windows95, but does not yet take advantage of the new
  23. features of Windows95. A future release will provide better support for
  24. Win32 features.

  28. This program is shareware. You may use it for 30 days free of charge,
  29. after which you must register the program if you continue to use it.
  30. The registration fee is ú20 (Pounds sterling).
  31. You can register by cheque, MasterCard/Visa, or Compuserve SWREG.
  32. See the help file for details.

  34. Credit Card Note: My credit card service provider may no longer be able
  35. to take credit card orders by the time you read this - please e-mail me 
  36. before registering using a credit card. Sorry about this, but it's
  37. beyond my control.

  39. Unregistered copies of Jot may be freely distributed, as outlined in the
  40. help file.

  49. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  50.  
  51. FROM a .ZIP file:
  52. + Unzip to a directory of your choice.
  53. + Execute INSTALL.EXE
  54. + Follow the instructions
  55.  
  56. FROM a distribution disk (in A: drive):
  57. + Execute A:\INSTALL.EXE
  58.  
  59. If you are upgrading from 0.7a, please note that you will need to re-set
  60. your registration details, and preferences, as the format was altered
  61. for this release; your old settings are available if you revert to 0.7a.
  62. The file format is unchanged, so you can share files between the versions.
