  4.     Thank you for using NewsCIS !!!

  6.     If you have not already installed the program, here are the steps
  7.     necessary to get you up and running...
  8.  
  9.     1) Copy "NewsCIS.Zip" onto your hard drive (if you did not download
  10.        it from CompuServe).
  11.  
  12.     2) From DOS, type "PKZIP NewsCIS.Zip".  This will extract all of the
  13.        files within NewsCIS.Zip that are necessary for the system to INSTALL.
  14.  
  15.                         *** NOTE ***
  16.  
  17.           If you do not have PkZip.Exe, you can download a 
  18.           file called "PK204G.EXE" from the WinShare forum 
  19.           [GO WINSHARE] Library #1.  Once you receive it, 
  20.           type PK204G.EXE, and this self-extracting file will
  21.           create PkZip.Exe for you.  Repeat step #2.

  23.     3) From Windows click on FILE, RUN, (from Win95...START, RUN), and 
  24.        enter the drive\path to the location that has the NewsCIS files,
  25.        and enter "Setup.Exe"
  26.  
  27.             Example:  C:\TEMP\SETUP.EXE
  28.  
  29.     4) That's all there is to it!  The Setup program will install all of
  30.        the NewsCIS files to the directory you designate, and will also
  31.        install certain files into your Windows/Win95 directories that 
  32.        enable NewsCIS to run.

  34.                         *** Note ***
  35.  
  36.           If your Windows/Win95 SYSTEM directory (usually C:\WIN\SYSTEM)
  37.           does NOT have "VBRUN300.DLL" and "THREED.VBX", you will need to
  38.           download these from the WinShare forum [GO WINSHARE] Library #1,
  39.           Copy them into your Windows/Win95 SYSTEM directory.  If you do 
  40.           NOT have these, you will get a message from NewsCIS telling
  41.           you that it cannot find a file, and you will not be able to run it.

  43.     Be sure to read the HELP information when you run the program (press F1)

  49.     You can MANUALLY help install NewsCIS by following these steps...
  50.  
  51.         1) Perform steps #1 and #2 as outlined above.
  52.             ( I'll assume all of the files are now in C:\TEMP\*.* )
  53.  
  54.         2) From DOS, go into your Windows/Win95 directory
  55.             ( Usually located in C:\WIN )
  56.  
  57.             Example: 
  58.                      C:
  59.                      CD \WIN
  60.  
  61.         3) Type the following line:
  62.  
  63.                 EXPAND C:\TEMP\SETUP1.EX_ SETUP1.EXE
  64.  
  65.         4) Go into your Windows/Win95 SYSTEM directory
  66.             ( Usually located in C:\WIN\SYSTEM )
  67.  
  68.             Example: 
  69.                      C:
  70.                      CD \WIN\SYSTEM
  71.  
  72.         5) Type the following lines:
  73.  
  74.                 EXPAND C:\TEMP\SETUPKIT.DL_ SETUPKIT.DLL
  75.                 EXPAND C:\TEMP\QPRO200.DL_  QPRO200.DLL
  76.                 EXPAND C:\TEMP\CSVLIST.VB_  CSVLIST.VBX
  77.                 EXPAND C:\TEMP\PDQCOMM2.VB_ PDQCOMM2.VBX

  79.         6) From Windows click on FILE, RUN, (from Win95...START, RUN), and 
  80.             enter the drive\path to the location that has the NewsCIS
  81.             files and enter "Setup.Exe"
  82.  
  83.             Example:  C:\TEMP\SETUP.EXE

  85.     Your installation should now proceed smoothly.  If it does NOT, E-Mail
  86.     us at 76460,1305 for support.
