  2.                         About Display Information File

  5. The Display Information File includes the information of your display.
  6. When your display does not support Plug & Play function, this file enables
  7. setting suitable resolution and refresh rate for your display.
  8.  
  9. * About Plug & Play
  10.    When your computer and display support VESA DDC, the suitable resolution
  11.    and the refresh rate are set by just plugging your display into the 
  12.    computer without any manual settings.
  13.    When your computer system supports Plug & Play, the Display Information
  14.    File is not required except for installing the Color Profile.
  15.

  17.     OS (Operating System) supporting VESA DDC
  18.         Microsoft Windows 95 (Windows 95)
  19.         Microsoft Windows 98 (Windows 98)
  20.         Microsoft Windows 2000 (Windows 2000)
  21.         Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me)
  22.     Computer (Graphics Board) supporting VESA DDC
  23.     Display Cable supporting VESA DDC

  25.   * Please contact each manufacture (computer, OS, graphics board)
  26.     to find if your system supports VESA DDC.

  28.   * The following procedure may differ depending on your computer
  29.     (graphics board).

  31. * About VESA DDC
  32.    Plug & Play standard for the display settled by VESA (Video Electronics
  33.    Standards Association)

  37. 1) For using on Windows 95                                                    
  38. ==============================================================================
  39. When your system does not support VESA DDC, the display name is listed in the
  40. display list and monitor information is stored in Windows 95 by installing the
  41. Display Information File.
  42.  
  43. Settings
  44.  
  45. (1)  Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 95.
  46.  
  47. (2)  Download the "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into
  48.      the floppy disk.
  49.  
  50. (3)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  51.  
  52. (4)  Double-click "Display" icon in the "Control Panel" and open "Display
  53.       Properties".
  54.  
  55. (5)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Change Display Type...".
  56.      (or click "Advanced...".)
  57.  
  58. (6)  Select "Change..." from "Monitor type".
  59.      (or select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...".)
  60.  
  61. (7)  Click "Have Disk..." in the Selected Device dialog box.

  63. (8)  Insert above (2) floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.

  65. (9)  Select the floppy disk drive and select "Copy manufacturer files from:"
  66.      and then click "OK".

  68. (10)  Select the preferred monitor from the displayed "Models:" list.

  70. (11) Select "OK" and close the dialog box.

  72. (12) Restart Windows 95 to activate the setting.

  76. 2) For using on Windows 98                                                  
  77. ============================================================================
  78. * For the system supporting VESA DDC

  80. If your system supports VESA DDC, the display is automatically recognized
  81. and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected. 
  82. There is no need to install the Display Information File except for using
  83. the Color Profile.

  85. Settings
  86.  
  87. (1)  Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 98.
  88.  
  89. (2)  After "New Hardware Found" is displayed, "Add New Hardware Wizard"
  90.       window appears and "The wizard searches for new drivers for: Plug and
  91.       Play Minter" is displayed. Click "Next".
  92.  
  93. (3)  Select "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)" then
  94.       click "Next".
  95.  
  96. (4)  Click "Next" without marking the target drive for searching the driver.
  97.  
  98. (5)  "Windows driver file searches for the device: Plug and Play Monitor" is
  99.       displayed then click "Next".

  101. (6)  "Windows has finished installing the software that your new hardware
  102.       device requires." is displayed then click "Finish".

  105. * For the system not supporting VESA DDC

  109. (1)  Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files
  110.       into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive.

  112. (2)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  113.  
  114. (3)  Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display
  115.       Properties".

  117. (4)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...".

  119. (5)  Select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...".

  121. (6)  "Update Device Driver Wizard" windows appears and click "Next".

  123. (7)  Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so
  124.       you can select the driver you want." then click "Next".

  126. (8)  Click "Have Disk..."

  128. (9)  "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive
  129.       in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK".

  131. (10) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next".

  133. (11) "Windows driver file searches for the device:" is displayed and click
  134.       "Next".

  136. (12) "Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your
  137.       hardware device." is displayed and click "Finish".

  141. 3) For using on Windows 2000

  161. (4)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...".

  163. (5)  Select "Monitor" tag and confirm "Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed
  164.       in the "Monitor Type".

  188.        I can choose a specific driver" and click "Next".

  190. (9)  Click "Have Disk...".

  192. (10) "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive
  193.       in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK".

  195. (11) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next".
  196.  
  197. (12) "The wizard is ready to install the driver for the following hardware
  198.        device:" is displayed and confirm that your selected display name
  199.        is displayed. Click "Next".
  200.  
  201. (13) "Digital Signature Not Found" window may appear. Click "Yes" to
  202.        continue the installation.

  204. (14) "Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" is displayed and
  205.         click "Finish".

  209.                         About Color Profile                                                                                     
  210. ******************************************************************************
  211. Color Profile (ICC Profile) includes all the necessary color information
  212. for the display.
  213. This file is used for color management with the application software
  214. which support ICC function. 
  215.  
  216. * What is the ICC Profile?
  217.    A specific file including the color characteristic information for the
  218.    device, settled by ICC (International Color Consortium).
  219.  
  220. * Settings
  221.    The Color Profile is not automatically installed on Windows 98 and
  222.    Windows 2000. Please install the profile following the instruction
  223.    of below.
  224.    When installing the Display Information File with above procedure,
  225.    the Color Profile is automatically installed. In this case, the following
  226.    profile will be set as a default profile;
  227.  
  228.    Default Color Profile;
  229.      CRT Display Monitor: xxx_93 (9300K Color Temperature)
  230.      LCD Display Monitor: xxx_m1 (Color Mode 1)

  233. For using on Windows 98 and Windows 2000

  236. Settings
  237.  
  238. (1)  Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files
  239.       into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive.

  241. (2)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".

  243. (3)  Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display
  244.       Properties".
  245.  
  246. (4)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...".

  248. (5)  Select "Color Management" tag and click "Add...".
  249.  
  250. (6)  "Add Profile Association" window is displayed and select a floppy disk
  251.       drive in the "Look in:" section.

  253. (7)  Select a suitable Color Profile from the list then click "Add".
  254.  
  255. (8)  Select a Color Profile from the list in the "Color Profiles currently
  256.       associated with this device:" and click "Set As Default".

  258. (9)  Click "Apply" and click "OK" to close a menu.
