  1. README.TXT for Windows NT 4.0 driver version 1.0 for
  2. AIWA GD-8000 tape drive
  3. ---------------------------------------------------------
  4. The following steps will install AIWADAT.SYS on an NT 4.0
  5. system.
  6.  
  7. 1. Cable the tape drive to the system.
  8.  
  9. 2. Start Windows NT.
  10.  
  11. 3. Put the driver diskette in drive A:.
  12.  
  13. 4. From the 'Start Menu', choose 'Settings', then
  14.    choose 'Control Panel'.
  15.  
  16. 5. Double-click 'Tape Devices'; the 'Tape Devices' window
  17.    appears and automatically loads the driver list.
  18.    Click 'Have Disk'.
  19.  
  20. 6. The 'Install from Disk' window appears. Ensure that the
  21.    source directory is A:\.
  22.  
  23. 7. Click OK.
  24.  
  25. 8. The 'Install Driver' window appears. In the 'Tape Devices'
  26.    list, 'AIWA Tape Driver for GD-8000' is highlighted.
  27.    Click OK.

  29. 9. The 'New Tape Device Found' window appears.
  30.  
  31. 10. Click OK to install driver now.
  32.  
  33. 11. The 'Tape Devices' window appears. It shows 
  34.     'AIWA GD-8000   (Driver loaded)'. Under the Drivers Tab,
  35.     it shows 'AIWA Tape Driver for GD-8000    (Started)'.
  36.     Click OK to close the window.

  38. 12. Close Control Panel.

  40. 13. Remove the diskette from drive A:.
  41.  
  42. 14. Restart Windows NT.
  43.  
  44. 15. From the Start menu, Choose 'Settings', then choose 'Control Panel'.
  45.     Double-click 'Devices' and confirm that the AIWADAT
  46.     device started.
