  1. Steps to install Creative legacy Sound Card on Windows NT 4.0
  2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  4. To install these drivers for different Sound Blaster cards, please read
  5. one of the the following sections carefully:
  6.  
  7. (1) SB16 sound card 
  8. (2) AWE32 sound card
  9.  
  10. (1) SB16 SOUND CARD 
  11.     ---------------
  12.     To install the drivers for a SB16 sound card:
  13.  
  14.     1. Open the Control Panel folder.  Double-click the "Drivers" icon.
  15.        Delete any previously installed Sound Blaster drivers.
  16.  
  17.     2. Insert the diskette that contains the oemsetup.INF file into a
  18.        floppy drive.
  19.  
  20.     3. Choose the "Add" button in the "Drivers" dialog box to add the
  21.        SB16 drivers. 
  22.        
  23.     4. Select the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" option.
  24.  
  25.     5. You will be prompted to specify the drive and directory where
  26.        the oemsetup.INF file is.  Type in the letter of the drive
  27.        containing the diskette you inserted ("A:" or "B:") and press
  28.        "ENTER".

  30.     6. Select "Creative Tech. Sound Blaster 16".
  31.  
  32.     7. Click the "New" button.
  33.  
  34.     8. At this point, you will be prompted to select the Sound Blaster
  35.        hardware settings like base I/O address, DMA, IRQ and MPU-401 port
  36.        settings. All the .SYS files will be copied into the
  37.        C:\WINNT35\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory.  The .ACV and .DLL files
  38.        will go into the C:\WINNT35\SYSTEM32 directory.

  40.     9. At the end of the installation, you will be asked to reboot the
  41.        system. Click the "Restart Now" button.

  45. (2) AWE32 OR SB32 SOUND CARD
  46.     ------------------------
  47.     To install the drivers for an AWE32 or SB32 sound card:
  48.     
  49.     1. Open the Control Panel folder.  Double-click the "Drivers" icon.
  50.        Delete any previously installed Sound Blaster drivers.
  51.  
  52.     2. Insert the diskette that contains the oemsetup.INF file into a
  53.        floppy drive.
  54.  
  55.     3. Choose the "Add" button in the "Drivers" dialog box to add the
  56.        SB16 drivers. 
  57.        
  58.     4. Select the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" option.

  60.     5. You will be prompted to specify the drive and directory where the

  75.        system.  CLICK THE "Dont' Restart Now" BUTTON AT THIS POINT.

  77.     10.Repeat steps 3 to 5 again.

  79.     11.This time, select the "Creative Sound Blaster AWE32 MIDI Synth"
  80.        option.

  82.     12.At the end of the installation, you will be asked to reboot your
  83.        system.  Click the "Restart Now" button.
